No Bake Mac and Cheese

This is a quick no bake mac and cheese that is perfect for weekday meals. It's homemade to avoid the chemicals and powdered cheese.
  • 3 cups dry elbow macaroni, cooked
  • 4 tablespoon butter
  • 4 tablespoon flour (I used whole wheat)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 cups white sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • salt
  • pepper
  1. While cooking macaroni per package directions prepare cheese sauce.
  2. In large saucepan, melt butter. Add in flour while constantly whisking until mixture becomes smooth and slightly thickened.
  3. Gradually add in milk while you continue to whisk (this is really important so the milk does not burn). Once mixture thickens about 6 minutes, mix in cheddar cheese until melted. Pour over cooked noodles and season with salt and pepper as needed. Serve immediately.
